MG & Rewriting Syria’s Mobility

Heritage brands reimagined are a common sight, and MG is no stranger to this treatment. Founded in 1924, the British automaker was once the king of open-top motoring. Fast forward to the 21st century, and you have a range of machines geared to spice up your daily drive with tech and good looks.

MG X Syria

MG is no stranger to the Middle East, and its latest entry into the Syrian market marks another major move. The century-long British automaker makes its entrance into the Syrian auto market through the local automotive powerhouse, British Heritage Group (BHG). Standards are vital from the get-go, and BHG upholds them close to heart, the entity was formed through a joint venture between Ghreiwati, Altass, and Alton, three of Syria’s most established and respected automotive groups. The result of this venture is global standards and a steady, long-term vision, backed by the right people to see it through.

The launch of MG in Syria, in partnership with the British Heritage Group, is part of MG’s broader strategy to expand its regional footprint and bring its signature blend of technology, style, and value to new markets.

For EIT, the local manufacturing project signifies a national achievement. The move not only bolsters Egypt’s position among manufacturing titans worldwide but also strikes a sentimental note with the launch of new models, such as the Kia Sportage, Seltos, and K4, coinciding with Kia’s 20th anniversary in Egypt.

Launching Strong

With the modern-day car buyer prioritizing the latest tech, practicality and a hint of sportiness to keep things interesting, MG’s of the 20th century bring just that to the table. The vehicles available at launch, including the MG 3 compact hatchback, the MG 5 sedan, MG 7 sports sedan, MG ZS, MG HS, and the flagship MG RX9, offer customers a wide variety of choices to suit their tastes and lifestyles. Each car is designed to provide the perfect blend of performance, comfort, and practicality, backed by the reassurance of MG’s comprehensive warranty and aftersales support.

Ownership of a brand-new MG also looks to be a breeze. Through its partnership, MG offers a 6-year or 200,000 KM warranty with the addition of a comprehensive after-sales service. All this and more is set to take shape with a showroom of MG’s finest and latest, plus a fully equipped service centre in Damascus, setting the tone for future expansion.

What Lies Ahead

It was not long ago that GWM entered Syria with the release of its electric powerhouses. The move made alongside local dealer Ghassan Aboud Automotive marked a new chapter in Syria’s contribution to the Levant’s growing penchant for all things four-wheeled.

As MG and GWM make their mark, it’s only natural that Syria follows in Egypt’s and Saudi Arabia’s footsteps as manufacturing bases for global motor car entities.
