In a recent social media posting by the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, proudly announced how Dubai is turning ambition into reality.
His Highness reviewed the progress of Dubai’s Air Taxi Stations, the first of its kind in the world, with the very first station located in proximity to Dubai International Airport (DXB). We can look forward to more Air Taxi Stations, which include Downtown, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina and all are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

With a capacity to serve 170,000 passengers annually, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashi Al Maktoum’s posting said he directed the teams behind this project to have the service ready for public use this year and meet the highest international standards. We would love to add here that Dubai is not simply meeting international standards but setting the global benchmark standard as no other country or city has ever undertaken to commercialise such a futuristic mobility solution so rapidly. When it comes to global leadership in bringing meaningful and scalable future technologies to its people, Dubai is undoubtedly the clear world leader.
The Air Taxi stations are a result of the great ambitions set for its people and residents by the visionary leaders of Dubai from yesteryear. These dreams came true as far back as 1972, when Dubai built one of the Gulf’s first modern ports and then, in 1979, went on to build the world’s largest man-made harbour in Jebel Ali and the first skyscraper, the Dubai World Trade Centre, the same year.

These projects laid the foundation for everything that followed, including the world’s first 7-star hotel, tallest buildings, man-made islands, water front living spaces and, in terms of mobility, the Dubai Metro. The list of Dubai’s milestones keeps adding as Dubai’s stability and growth trajectories keep rising, with the leadership wanting nothing but the best for their locals and millions of residents alike.
The Air Taxi project comes at a perfect time, when Dubai endeavours to reduce travel time within the Emirate, marking another clear milestone in its urban mobility journey. HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum went on to thank the RTA and all partners involved in this iconic project.
