Dubai, UAE—Chinese new-energy vehicle manufacturer Li Auto has confirmed that it will begin sales in the Middle East this September, with Dubai set to host the company’s regional product launch event.
Li Auto disclosed the move alongside its August 2026 delivery figures, confirming that the Dubai event will mark the commencement of sales in the Middle East. The company has yet to announce the exact event date, regional model line-up, local retail locations or distribution arrangements.
The announcement gives Dubai another role in the accelerating expansion of Chinese automotive brands across the Gulf.

Li Auto has built its business around family-focused new-energy vehicles and has expanded from extended-range electric vehicles into fully electric models. The company delivered 37,679 vehicles in August 2026, bringing cumulative deliveries to more than 1.8 million vehicles by the end of the month.
September is already a busy month for the manufacturer. Li Auto is launching an updated version of its Li MEGA flagship MPV on 2 September, while the Li i9 flagship battery-electric family SUV is expected to follow in the middle of the month.
Which vehicles will form the company’s initial Middle East range remains unconfirmed.
What is clear is that Li Auto is moving from international expansion plans to a direct commercial entry into the region.
The GCC has become an increasingly important destination for Chinese automotive manufacturers, particularly those operating in the electric and technology-heavy premium segments. Buyers in markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia now have access to a considerably wider selection of Chinese brands than they did only a few years ago.
For Li Auto, entering through Dubai provides access to one of the region’s most competitive automotive markets and places the company alongside an expanding field of Chinese manufacturers already fighting for attention in the UAE.
The unanswered question will be how Li Auto builds the infrastructure around the cars.

Distribution, servicing, warranty support and parts availability will matter considerably once sales begin, particularly for a brand entering the region with vehicles that depend heavily on software and electrified powertrains.
Those details are likely to become clearer when Li Auto holds its Dubai launch later this month.

For the GCC automotive market, its arrival adds another serious new-energy manufacturer to a segment that is becoming increasingly crowded.
